Since 1987, Capital City Stucco has been an important advocate to exterior plastering and insulating systems from its home base in Canton, Ga., and beyond. With its commitment to construction excellence, quality and professionalism, the company specializes in stucco, plaster, decorative plaster, EIFS, insulation, drywall, acoustical ceilings, metal stud framing and specialty finishes to meet most any project requirement regardless of size or scope.

Capital City Stucco is licensed in 15 states across the U.S. The company and team has extensive industry experience across a number of commercial and industrial areas to include apartments, condominiums, high rises, casinos, hospitality/healthcare and education. Regardless of industry type or project size and scope, CCS can deliver the goods. And it should, considering its 29 years in business.

The company is a member of a number of organizations that include: Associated Builders & Contractors, Associated General Contractors of America, U.S. Green Building Council  and Northwest Wall & Ceiling Bureau, to name a few. The company is also recognized as a Parex Medallion Applicator, certified applicators of FineStone and Senergy and stucco wall systems.

At Capital City Stucco, the company views safety as one of its top priorities. The contractor has earned the Gold Level S.T.E.P. Award from ABC National, as well as the Award of Safety Excellence from the Georgia Chapter of ABC. This provides clients with the assurance that CCS is focused on completing all projects safely and with zero incidents. Not only is the company focused on safety but also on being environmentally friendly. Toward that goal, CCS has LEED-certified team members who understand and support general contractors who are interested in obtaining LEED certification for building projects.

The President

Jeff Harper, President & Owner of Capital City Stucco, is a sports aficionado and a cold-weather fanatic. Here at W&C, we are based in Michigan, so the idea of being a fan of the winter season is foreign to us but for this Georgia resident, we’ll let it slide. Harper started his journey into the trades as a sales representative for Sto Corp. Staying true to his roots, Capital City Stucco continues to use Sto products and have worked with them on recent projects.

Capital City Stucco is currently comprised of 75 hard-working employees. When it comes to running a successful business, it’s important to have a good core group of individuals who are dedicated to the craft of their work. Some of the most notable parts of a job is reflecting on what the most interesting aspects of the work is. Jeff Harper notes that the most interesting aspect of the job for him is, “the ability to take a two-dimensional set of blueprints and help be a part of a 3-D project.”

This company is in the business of taking an idea and turning it into a reality. Other businesses share this same passion, but when asked what sets their company apart from the competition, Harper says it is their “attention to detail.” And from looking at the scope of this company’s work, it’s hard to disagree.

Project Insight

From apartments to casinos, Capital City Stucco has had their hand in a variety of different projects. One such casino project was the Creek Casino located in Montgomery, Ala. This casino has a 65,000-square-foot gaming floor and over 2,200 games to choose from. Another project the company worked on was the Atlantic House Apartments. Located in Atlanta, this apartment complex sits at 32-stories high, and is located in a thriving district.

Capital City Stucco has also dabbled in Education and Healthcare projects. The company’s most notable education project being the Emory University Dormitory, also located in Atlanta, Georgia. And for Healthcare projects: the Wellstar Kennestone Facility, in Kennesaw, Georgia; the River Place Medical Plaza in Braselton, Georgia; and the Meadows Regional Medical Center in Visalia, Georgia.

Future Outlook

When asked what the hardest aspect of this job are for Harper, he says, “Maintaining the expectations that I have set for myself and the company.”

While meeting and exceeding expectations can be hard, we have complete faith in the President of Capital City Stucco to keep up the standards that he has set for this business. He goes on to say that the business is doing great as of today, and describes the current construction climate in the company’s region as being really good as well. Capital City Stucco is currently working in the southeast, including cities like Nashville, Atlanta, Charlotte, and Charleston, S.C.

The future looks bright for this growing company and we look forward to seeing all the future projects that are on the horizon. W&C
