ClarkDietrich Organizes Apprentice Training Event to Promote Skilled Labor
The manufacturer plays it part in helping attract Next Gen workforce.
As the construction industry continues to evolve, the need for skilled trade professionals remains constant. In fact, the National Center for Construction Education and Research reports that 53 percent of the industry is expected to retire by 2036. To inspire the next generation of construction professionals, ClarkDietrich—North America’s largest manufacturer of cold-formed steel framing and accessories—is taking steps to engage prospective and early-career tradespeople with hands-on experiences to modern building techniques and resources.
On June 24, ClarkDietrich, whose headquarters is located in the greater Cincinnati area, teamed up with the Ohio Carpenters’ Apprenticeship Program to host an interactive training and networking class at OHCAP’s Monroe Campus. As part of the event, first-year apprentices learned about modern framing methods, including hands-on experience working with steel framing, which has gained prominence in recent years for its strength, versatility, resiliency and efficiency.
