Valley Interior Systems, a leading specialty contractor headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio, is revolutionizing its construction layout processes by integrating HP SitePrint technology. With a commitment to "Construction with Vision," Valley has deployed the largest HP SitePrint fleet globally to enhance productivity, precision and efficiency across its interior spaces projects for commercial buildings, data centers, and healthcare facilities.

HP SitePrint is an autonomous robotic solution that streamlines construction site layout by transferring digital blueprints directly onto floor surfaces. By marking data from CAD and BIM models straight onto the ground, SitePrint improves accuracy, reduces manual labor, and enhances collaboration across trades. It prints not only layout information for walls, doors, and MEP systems, but also trade-specific data and text-based instructions that guide on-site teams. With precision up to ±3mm (one-eighth of an inch), advanced obstacle detection, and compatibility with surfaces like concrete, plywood, and vinyl, SitePrint can boost layout productivity by up to 10xi.

Founded in 1981, Valley Interior Systems has grown to serve clients throughout Ohio, Kentucky, and Tennessee, offering a comprehensive range of services including drywall, framing, acoustical ceilings, and plastering. The company's dedication to craftsmanship and innovation has positioned it as a trusted partner in the commercial construction industry. With a growing pipeline of projects, Valley required faster and more precise layout processes.

“On average, we would lay out about 25 to 35 linear feet of wall per hour by hand, depending on the project. With HP SitePrint, we’re consistently laying out up to 300 linear feet of wall layout per hour with a single operator,” said Rick Hutchins, Vice President of Operations at Valley Interior Systems. “At Valley, we work with contractors and suppliers that strive to be problem solvers, which is why it made sense to collaborate with HP SitePrint. Being more productive with our new layout process helps business owners and end users tighten their schedule and complete projects accurately in faster timelines.

Traditional manual layout methods were labor-intensive, demanding the involvement of multiple workers and consuming substantial time and resources. Typically, physically measuring and marking floors require the effort of two to four workers, often taking weeks to complete larger layout projects. This manual approach was also prone to errors, resulting in costly rework and delays in project timelines. By adopting HP SitePrint, Valley has achieved a 9–10x increase in layout productivity, enabling a single operator to complete tasks that previously required multiple team members. This advancement has allowed Valley to complete over 2 million square feet of interior layout, saving manual labor time, allowing users to focus on more value-add tasks.

The integration of HP SitePrint not only streamlines operations but also supports Valley's mission to foster growth and development within its workforce. By embracing cutting-edge technology, the company provides its team members with opportunities to enhance their skills and contribute to high-quality construction outcomes. Although Valley layout teams hadn’t mentioned seeking a way to reduce the physical strain of physical layouts, they immediately noticed the safer and more ergonomic work environment provided by HP SitePrint.

“Valley’s adoption of HP SitePrint showcases how embracing innovation can lead to significant improvements in efficiency and accuracy,” said Xavier Juarez, Director of HP Construction Services. “Their dedication to innovation and precision ensures that every project reflects how Valley is setting a new standard in the construction industry. But it’s not just about productivity, it’s also about people. Valley is creating a safe and smart environment for their workforce by minimizing physically demanding tasks, reducing the risk of injury, and improving layout ergonomics. Their leadership proves that technology can raise standards not only in performance, but in how we support the people behind the work.”

Valley Interior Systems continues to lead by example, demonstrating how technology and tradition can coexist to deliver exceptional results in the construction sector.
